Overview:

As our Freelance Digital Content Writer, you'll spend approximately 15-25 hours per week helping PowerPost content creators and strategists writing social and blog content for various clients. From hospitality and attractions to healthcare and finance, you’ll have an aptitude for adaptation and ability to understand what engages an audience regardless of industry.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of how to create digital content within the parameters of multiple media platforms. Candidate will also have strong knowledge of blog writing and writing copy while following SEO principles. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated person, with an eye for detail and critical thinking skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Writing both long form (whitepapers, e-books, blogs) and short form (micro-blogs, social posts, etc.) content for clients

  • Finding/creating graphics optimized for digital platforms

  • Assisting fellow Content Strategists and Client Success Managers on various timely projects

  • Monitor for and strategize with the team on trends, best practices and ways to constantly improve content quality

  • Write with grammar quality, overall concept clarity and use of content marketing/social media best practices in mind

  • Schedule and serve as a community manager across client social pages (when applicable)

 

Must Haves:

  • A working knowledge of digital marketing

  • Passion for blogging and/or familiarity with Wordpress

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Docs

  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest)

  • Ability to perform under tight deadlines

  • Ability to create content that reflects a variety of brand voices

  • A keen interest in social media and content marketing

  • Creative and versatile writing skills

  • Knowledge of AP style

  • Proactive mentality geared towards experimentation and seeking out solutions

 

Would make you EXTRA awesome:

  • Previous experience working in agency environment

  • Experience in writing marketing copy

  • An eye for graphic design - experience using PicMonkey, Canva, Photoshop, etc.

  • Familiarity with content management systems and social advertising
